STATELY SPEAKERS Keep an eye on this energetic new club. Stately Speakers chartered on July 12 with 32 members, and has since grown to 43! This club has created a web page at http://statelyspeakers.freetoasthost.com/. As often as possible, Stately Speakers meetings are held in the conference rooms in the 1100 or 1200 corridors of the Harry S Truman (HST) building of the State Department. The HST building is located between C and D Streets NW and between 21st and 23rd Streets NW. This club is intently focused on helping club members meet their goals, so it should have no problem being a distinguished club its first year! The winner of the club Humorous Speaking contest placed second at the Area level. Because many club members have traveled the world on State Department business, it seems that nearly every meeting is filled with some fascinating or humorous tale from a far-off place. |
